FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New Web Resource for Technical WritersPromises to Improve Quality of Training ProjectsMarch 11, 2001. A newly published web site promises to be a real boon for technical writers in a growing niche that, until now, has apparently not been filled by other web sites. Technical writers, meeting corporate pressures to add training components to user and help documentation, have had limited resources for learning what to do and how to do it. Tech Writer's Guide (www.lepublishing.com) is for technical writers, and focuses on training development. It includes free downloads of templates, job aids, articles, presentations, and scripts that make the training course development easier and faster. Spokesperson Rives Hassell-Corbiell, owner of site sponsors The Learning Edge and Learning Edge Publishing, says that development plans include adding content about training delivery. "There is a lot of material on the Internet about training theory, as well as material for training professionals, but almost nothing for technical writers who are being asked to develop training. I found an opportunity to fill a need." She says that content will be added monthly, and that suggestions from site visitors will help determine what content is posted.
